Purchasing/Procurement Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

This position involves ensuring timely and optimal delivery of required consumables, capital expenses, and direct materials to the plant in order to maintain steady production output. The Manager of Purchasing should strive to provide the best product at the required time, the most efficient way possible, for the most economic dollar value.
Represent Rotec’s interests in procurement strategy implementation with partner companies to ensure optimization appropriation for expenditures. Large emphasis will be on strategic sourcing, lead analysis, cost savings negotiation, process improvement.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with internal employees to determine business procurement, requirements/inventories and recommending the best strategy to ensure the lowest overall total cost to meet requirements of a project.
• Establish and implement strategic inventory and purchasing control solutions for acquisition, capital items and natural gas/diesel direct materials and sublet services. This may include RFI, RFQ, RFP, benchmarking, procurement, etc.
• Analyzing consumable usage for cost savings i.e. economies of scale.
• Establishing and maintaining the supplier pre-qualification process.
• Reviewing suppliers at least once annually, to ensure that they meet standards for quality and to ensure Rotec maintains compliance to requirements
• Standardizing and reducing the number of similar consumable products and vendors used in the facility to ensure cost effective solutions are being practiced.
• Manage standard vendor inventory types and associated contractors. to ensure steady production output and effective implementation of established procurement processes and strategies.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• 5-7 years minimum purchasing and contracts experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of Heavy Equipment industry and inventory management of
existing parts relative to equipment material requirements.
• B.S. preferred or equivalent education and experience.

Mechanical Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

Participate with design modification in the manufacture of concrete placement systems, from conceptual layout and structural analysis through component procurement, used in hydroelectric dam and construction projects.
Develop Bill of materials for specific product lines for production and coordinate with purchasing.
Be able to utilize AutoCAD 2008 to create 2D engineering drawings and 3D job-site layout drawings.
Engage in new ideas with existing systems and assemblies utilizing 3D Autodesk Inventor.
Communicate with shop, manufacturing and construction personnel to optimize design of components and maintain peak production capability of equipment.
Analyze and trouble shoot equipment performance problems and provide optimal upgrade solutions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
• Confer with engineers and other personnel to resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
• Provide feedback to field engineers on customer problems and needs.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering, construction, or system erection of projects, and work with legal department as required in preparation of contract documents.
• Establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and supply of materials required to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.
